why isn’t everybody talking about this

Tumblr and animes?

So I was wondering. Since Tumblr is the homeland of social justice, exaggerated feminism and so on, what’s its opinion on animes? I mean, I know the existance of The Hawkeye Initiative (if you don’t, look it up because it’s awesome), but what about the corrupted depiction of women in animes - and more in general, in Japan?

Nowadays animes are just fanservice, there is nothing more. Every year the number of ecchi animes increases more and more. Plus, most of shonen animes have been inserted almost sexual scenes, half-naked women, ambiguous lolis.

Women in anime (except from few examples) have always stereotypical characters and bodies: lolis, 16-years-old huge breasted girls, tsundere girls, yandere girls, dumb girls with boobs who are always, CASUALLY, involved in sexually suggestive scenes…

The worst thing is that things like this are accepted in Japan and are becoming more and more recognised also in the Western world and culture.

I’ve read that in Japan there are cafés in which girls are dressed up as maids and they don’t wear undies, while men who attend the café are given shoes with mirrors in order to watch under their skirts.
I’ve read that prostitues wear young girls’ clothes because it’s considerated erotic.
I’ve read that idols sell their worn panties and men collect them.
In Japan you can be 12 and work in the gravure market.

I find all of this disgusting, but I’ve never read anything like this on Tumblr, and since I know how feminist we are it just… disappoints me?
